Tahmina Day has over 15 years of experience in the international financial services industry. For 11 years, Ms. Day served as a Corporate Governance Officer of IFC (a member of the World Bank Group). In that role she was the team leader and key expert in corporate governance, ESG, internal audit and risk management providing advisory services to over 20 IFC investment portfolio companies. This resulted in the client companies generating over US$250 Million dollars in investment.
Using IFC proprietary Corporate Governance Assessment Methodology, Ms. Day conducted in-depth corporate governance and internal control reviews of multiple corporations representing finance, manufacturing, infrastructure and health care industries. Ms. Day helped client companies to establish governance structure and internal control systems based on Corporate Governance Principles, COSO Frameworks, and SOX requirements. Recently, Ms. Day served as a Risk Manager at CIT Group, Inc., a US$50bl in assets financial holding company. In that role, she advised senior management across technology and operations.
Most recently, Ms. Day was recruited by Fannie Mae, a US$3.4trl in assets institution and a leading provider of financing for mortgage lenders. In her new role, she is responsible for developing and overseeing the management-level governance framework.
In addition to her in-depth corporate governance expertise, Tahmina brings to SONEAN substantial knowledge of markets in the U.S., CIS, and Eastern Europe. As a member of the SONEAN Advisory Board, Tahmina advises on the strategic expansion, board leadership, and global exposure.
